Gold Coast Aquatic Centre – Outdoor Pool, QLD
The $41 million redevelopment of the Southport pool complex, originally developed in the 1960s, was the first venue delivered for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and has provided the Gold Coast with a world-class swimming and diving facility. Construction commenced in February 2013 and was completed ahead of schedule in June 2014 to host the Pan Pacific Swimming Championships event in August 2014.
As part of the redevelopment, Chroma tiles and fingergrips from Agrob Buchtal feature throughout the facility, including the new 50 metre (10 lane) competition swimming pool, refurbished lane training and diving pools, new learn to swim pool and children’s play pool.
Ceramic Solutions experience within the aquatic industry provided the architect, builders and council with confidence that the pool would exceed expectations in delivering a quality tiled facility on-time and to budget.
